Holistic Massage Therapy – Information Sheet for Client
This information is for you to take home and refer to after your treatment.
Part of holistic massage therapy is to relieve your body of any toxins, work on tense muscles and induce a change in mood.
To ensure that you get the most from your treatment, it is recommended that you –
Drink plenty of water after your treatment – This helps the toxins flush from your system and prevent you from feeling tired.
Try to keep your diary free for the rest of the day after your treatment – This helps the body focus on working through what the massage has started with the release of toxins and your change in mood.
Things to be aware of in the 24 hours after treatment -
You may feel emotional – your mood may be uplifted or you may feel tearful. This is normal and healthy as this means the treatment has helped shift an emotional blockage. You will feel more balanced and better for it.
You may feel unwell – it may be that the treatment has unblocked something that was in your system and needed to come out. For example, you get a cold. Again this is normal and healthy and is helping to rebalance your system.
You may ache or feel stiff – when your muscles are worked on especially areas where they are tense, when they relax your body may feel achy as the muscles readjust to their new relaxed state.
